14 Years
By around 14 years old, many young people are well into their teenage growth years. Heights can shoot up quickly, body shapes can change, and clothing needs to feel comfortable, confidence-boosting and suitable for school, sports and social life.
In Australia, this stage is usually labelled Size 14 or 14 years, although the fit can vary between brands depending on the cut, fabric and overall style. As a general guide, Size 14 often suits teens weighing around 50–60kg and measuring up to about 165cm in height. Because growth at this age can be unpredictable, it’s often more helpful to consider height, build and personal comfort rather than relying on age alone.
At this stage, many teens have developed their own sense of style and are wanting clothes that feel more grown-up, so the trick is to balance this with being practical for busy days. Choosing quality fabrics, comfortable fits and versatile layering pieces can help them feel confident whether they’re heading to school, sport or spending time with friends.
At Kids of Eltham, we understand that this can be a big transition stage. Our friendly, experienced team is always happy to help you find well-fitting, age-appropriate clothing that supports comfort and confidence as teens continue to grow.
