3–6 Month Baby Clothing Sizes
By the time your baby reaches the 3–6 month stage, you may start to notice just how quickly little ones grow — and how different clothing sizes can feel from one brand to the next. Many parents tell us this is when sizing can become a bit confusing, especially as babies develop at their own unique pace.
In Australia, clothing for this age and stage is commonly labelled 3–6 months, 00 (double-zero), or sometimes 0–6 months depending on the brand or product. As a general guide, these sizes are often designed to suit babies weighing around 6–8kg and measuring up to approximately 68cm in length. However, the true fit can vary based on purpose, design, brand, fabric stretch, cut, and style.
Because there is no single standard for baby clothing sizes, some pieces may feel generous and last longer, while others may be a more fitted style from the start. Choosing soft, breathable fabrics, comfortable waistbands, and practical designs for rolling, wriggling and growing movement can make everyday dressing much easier during this busy stage.
